Pickens County is located in the northwest part of South Carolina, better known as the Golden Triangle.
South Carolina is a state in the

one of the 13 colonies that revolted against British rule in the American
Revolution. It was the first state to secede from the Union and went on to
found the Confederate States of America. The state is named after King
Charles II of England, as Carolus is Latin for Charles. As of 2004, the
state's population was 4,198,068.
